Required hardware (digitizing table, Large Format A0 & A3 printer, color printer, high configuration processor and servers and software (ERDAS Imagine 2010, ARC GIS 9.3.1, eCognition 8.64, ENVI 4.6, IDRISI and ARC/INFO) have been acquired. Expert and technical level personnel trained in their use at the ITC-Netherlands, Bergen University, Norway, East West Centre, Honolulu, Hawaii, Amsterdam, and Stockholm as well as in Dhaka. The purpose of these facilities and skilled manpower is to provide consultancy services and to give support to ongoing and future Open Eyes IT Solution projects.

Objectives:

The main objective of the division is to carry out research on application of remote sensing and geo-informatics in natural resources:
Assessment
Monitoring
Management
towards sustainability, equitable and just sharing of resources whether terrestrial and aquatic.
To provide training to professionals from government and non-government organizations on RS application in their relevant fields.
To collaborate with international organizations, universities in research and exchange programs in remote sensing and GIS.
To develop an archive of high resolution satellite imageries which could be used for reciprocated research activities.
